A Very Nice Imperial Japanese Army Katana With Full leather Combat Cover & Tassel
A WWII Japanese army mounted katana with its original tassel and full leather combat cover. The blade is very nice with only light staining. The scabbard is a is the typical gunto saya with full leather combat cover. The saya is almost certainly mint under the leather. The tassel is the early style officers great blue & brown and is in excellent condition. The tsuka (handle) is covered with leather to protect it from the tropical weather. This style cover was popular with solders who used their swords verses the slip over sock style covers. A very nice sword that's priced to sell!
